It is remanufactured cotton which completed several uchi-naoshi steps. In making a thick layer of stuffing for a futon, uchikaeshi-wata (remanufactured cotton) is stacked in layers with new cotton in the way that the remanufactured cotton is placed between several layers of new cotton.
