  • Thickness approx. 0.4″ / 1.0cm
  • The tough threads are used for connecting the three parts and make it able to fold.
  • There are fold lines overall. This is because there is no core urethane board inside which stretch the rush grass sheet.
  • This is a natural status of the item. The fold lines can not be removed.

About rush grass

  1. Since rush grass has 2.5 times the moisture absorption power of cotton, it reduces sweat build up.
  2. Rush grass is capable of controlling moisture, and aids in sleeping in a dry and pleasant manner.
  3. Rush grass prevents the substance that causes the smell of sweat, as well as other unpleasant odors, from accumulating.

Natural Benefits of Rush Grass

  • Humidity Regulation

Rush grass absorbs excess moisture and perspiration, helping maintain a comfortable environment.

  • Air Purification

Rush grass naturally absorbs certain airborne substances, including formaldehyde, helping improve indoor air quality.

  • Natural Deodorizing Effect

Rush grass helps reduce common household odors, including perspiration and ammonia-related odors.

Made with Rush grass sourced from Kyushu, Japan

Pure Japanese rush grass, grown with clean water and fresh air, has a distinct toughness and resilience compared to its imported counterparts.

Japanese-grown rush grass is known for its superior density, resilience, and durability compared to many imported alternatives.

The fibers are more tightly packed, making the material:

  • More elastic
  • More durable
  • More resistant to cracking
  • Longer lasting

Hiba Wood Treatment

This product is treated with natural Hiba wood extract sourced from Aomori Prefecture, Japan.

Using proprietary processing technology, Hiba essence is infused into the material. Hiba extract contains hinokitiol, a naturally occurring compound known for its antibacterial and deodorizing properties.

Compared with untreated products, the Hiba treatment helps maintain freshness while adding the pleasant, forest-like aroma characteristic of Hiba wood.

The natural scent of Hiba is often associated with the relaxing atmosphere of a forest retreat, enhancing the comfort of your living space.

How to care

  • Before use, wipe with a dry cloth.
  • If a liquid is spilled, do not rub hard, but absorb it with a tissue asap.
  • Use a vacuum cleaner for daily maintenance.
  • Occasionally, place it in a well ventilated area indoors. This will prevent the formation of mold.
  • Do not wash.
  • Air out in the shade.

*The color of the edges may look different from the color of the center, but this does not mean that the product is defective. The difference in color is not caused by color fading or exposure to sunlight. It is due to the natural characteristics of rush grass.

Very pleased with the products and service - thank you.

I was worried a single mattress would be too firm (I sleep on my side and have bony shoulders and hips), but right now it's perfect. I might add a topper after it settles. It's light and easy to fold or hang over the railing outside to air out.The wazarashi cotton cover is very soft. The reversible mat seems to do a good job of controlling moisture, and I love waking up to the smell of rush grass.
