Nagomi fabric – 6 color options
This fabric is thicker and more substantial compared to standard futon fabrics. Its simple, solid design makes it easy to mix and match with a wide range of home decor styles.
In Japanese, “Nagomi” (なごみ) or “Nagomu” (なごむ) refers to a feeling of comfort, calmness, and relaxation. We hope this futon brings a sense of peace and softness to your everyday rest.
Asanoha (Flax leaf) Pattern
This is one of the most popular patterned fabrics in our store.
In ancient times, flax leaves were considered sacred and used as protective talismans. When a baby was born, people would make garments with this pattern and dress the child as a wish for health and protection.
This design consists of repeating triangles and is regarded as one of Japan’s most beautiful traditional geometric patterns. Even today, it can be found in kimonos, furniture, and modern architecture throughout Japan.
Sashiko Zanmai Pattern
Sashiko is an ancient Japanese form of embroidery. Over time, various patterns have been developed and passed down from generation to generation, not only for decorative purposes but also to reinforce and strengthen fabric.
This fabric features a printed collection of traditional Sashiko-inspired patterns.
How to Choose the Size
As a general guide, choose a kotatsu futon quilt that is about 110–130 cm (43.3–51.2 in) larger than the tabletop in both length and width.
This gives about 55–65 cm (21.7–25.6 in) of overhang on each side, allowing the quilt to drape comfortably around the table.
Many kotatsu tables today are taller than traditional styles. If your kotatsu table is higher than about 40 cm (15.4 in), we recommend choosing a larger futon for a more comfortable drape.
For the kotatsu futon cover, choose the same size as your kotatsu futon quilt, or a cover that is up to about 5 cm (2.0 in) larger.
Clean and Natural Materials
We believe the materials closest to your body should be as natural as possible.
Our cotton filling contains no:
- Insecticides
- Toxic solvents
- Flame retardants
- Hormone-disrupting chemicals
We use heat treatment and mechanical processing rather than chemical treatments whenever possible, preserving the natural qualities of the cotton while ensuring a clean and comfortable product.
All manufacturing processes are done in house
We source high-quality raw cotton from India. Classic, heavy-duty machines that have been used for over three generations remove cotton debris and prepare the cotton for use as futon filling. We sterilize the cotton using heat and do not use any chemicals in any of our processes.
We keep a wide variety of cotton fabrics in stock to meet our customers' diverse needs. During busy periods, our skilled artisans produce more than 15 futon mattresses per day. The finished products are then shipped worldwide from our office on the lower floor of the factory.
Our manufacturing process is both streamlined and efficient. By minimizing intermediaries and transportation costs, we are able to offer high-quality products at fair prices.
