This item is available as an individual Tenryu unit tatami mat to be customized. We cut regular Tenryu tatami mats to your desired finished size.
You can choose the rim color, base tatami size, and cut option when ordering. Please enter the finished dimensions in centimeters.

- Please calculate the number of tatami mats and the required area before ordering.
- The total price of the item and shipping cost can be checked on the cart page.
- The tatami will be cut by machine, but please allow a difference of about 1 cm.
- Production usually takes 2 weeks or more.
About the Construction
This item is lightweight and durable because of the special needle-punch processing used for the backing material.
Needle-punch processing is a manufacturing method in which overlapping thin fibers are intertwined and compressed using many needles. This helps create a dense and durable mat with good structural strength.
Layout Example
Unit tatami mats can be arranged to create a Japanese-style floor space. The connector joints make it easy to join multiple mats together to suit the size or shape of the room.
Natural Rush Grass
Create a space with a Japanese mood by placing unit tatami mats on the floor. The surface is made with Japanese rush grass grown in Kyushu.
Each strand of rush grass is thick and resilient, giving the mat good elasticity and durability. Rush grass also helps regulate humidity and gives the surface a natural character as it gradually changes color with use.
The core material uses 15 mm hard cotton padding processed with Aomori cypress. The mats are lightweight and easy to carry, install, and store.
