Wazarashi Fabric

What’s “Wazarashi Cotton”?
In modern times the bleaching process involves dyeing and processing the fabric while stretching it through a machine.
However, the traditional manufacturing method, wazarashi, does not pull or stretch the cloth; instead, it is slowly and thoroughly processed for about three days in a cauldron, almost completely removing any impurities, without stressing the fiber.
To get the appearance of pure cotton wazarashi fabric, pigments / fats, impurities etc. attached to the cotton are removed, taking the textile’s natural form to the very limit.
