Made in Japan
This is an Igusa rug made of purely domestic Igusa (rush glass). The powerful and cool tiger design is a perfect match with rushes. Igusa naturally purifies the air and regulates humidity. The rushes are treated with Aomori cypress. (Antibacterial and deodorant effect)
Normally, when weaving rushes, two rushes are flown to the loom at the same time and woven together. This is called double weaving. In triple weaving, one more rush is flown into the loom to make the weave thicker and richer in color expression.
The rich expression of the tiger is expressed by using about 100 more warp threads than usual, and using sack weaving, which can express delicate patterns.
By using bleached rushes, the pattern comes out more clearly and beautifully. Normally, the drying of rushes is left to machines, but the process of bleaching requires drying in the sun, which takes time and effort.
