It is one of the traditional Shippo (seven jewels) pattern handed down to Karacho for generations from the Edo period, which is characterized by its attractive geometric design like the Western mosaic or tiled pattern. This pattern, which looks like not only circles or stars but also flowers or crosses, is considered as a lucky pattern which brings happiness in all directions.
