Wagara

wagara

It means the traditional Japanese patterns with motifs such as plants, trees, small animals, landscapes or items familiar with the public. The name of wagara is derived from the motifs used in the pattern like “asanoha”, “ichimatsu”, “kagome”, “kikkou” or “ryu-sui.” Various kinds of minor changes have been added in the patterns from the medieval era to the modern times, so there are countless numbers of patterns now.
