It means the height of a futon which is measured under certain conditions such as applying pressure. It doesn’t stand for the thickness of a futon at a normal state. Especially, in the case of an umo-buton, as the kasadaka goes up, it contains much air and has high quality, so kasadaka is used as a gauge of how high its ability to retain heat is.
