It’s one of the ways of making kake-butons. It’s the way of futon making to decorate a futon with the white frame by attaching the white solid fabric around the futon. It is also called “kagami-jitate” or “kagami-buton.” And there is also another way of futon making called kenuki-jitate covering the whole cotton batting with the same fabric.
