Create a space with a Japanese mood by simply placing these unit tatami mats on the floor. The mat surface material is made from Japanese (Kyushu)-grown rush grass. Each strand of rush grass is thick, with a thick surface skin and fine fibers, resulting in outstanding elasticity and durability. Rush grass is a natural air purifier and humidity regulator. Aomori cypress extract is applied on the surface. The cypress contains hinokitiol, a natural substance with exceptionally strong anti-bacterial properties (antibacterial and deodorizing effects).
To prioritize elasticity, 15 mm compressed polyester padding is used. It is also lightweight, making it easy to carry, set up, and clean up. Using connector joints, any number of sheets can be easily connected together according to the size and shape of the room.
Depending on the direction of the weave of the rush grass, the color may look different when viewed from different angles. This is a feature of natural rush grass and not defective.

The reason this item is lightweight and durable lies in its special needle punch processing of the backing material.
Needle punch processing is a manufacturing method where overlapping thin fibers are intertwined and compressed using numerous needles, tightly bonding the fibers together. This results in a dense and durable mat with high structural integrity.

The mats are also a lightweight type for easy carrying, installation, and packing away. Using the connector joints, it is easy to join any number of mats together to the suit the size or shape of the room.

*The color of the edges may look different from the color of the center, but this is not mean that the product is defective. The difference in color is not caused by color fading or exposure to sunlight. It is due to the natural characteristics of rush grass.
*The connecting fitting is made of soft material, but please note that there is a possibility that you will damage the floor if you rub the parts to joint against the floor.
