Raw cotton arrived from India today, 900KG worth! It is a native desi cotton. This cotton is very strong and is the best variety for making futons.
This is our previous president cottoning a single-size futon mattress. I like how his cap is always covered by cotton(not much on it today). When the fabric is turned over, the cotton mysteriously fits inside the fabric. It is like a magic trick! The cotton is made to be packed in every corner.
We received this nice review from Edrik in Singapore!
We are ready to make your visit to Japan a pleasant shopping experience. This is a part of the store. A classic sewing machine welcomes you at the entrance. We also DIY'd the log chairs. We are planning to hang lanterns for lighting. We are looking forward to your visit!
When the futon is complete, blow off any unwanted cotton from the production process. Then, first place it in a sturdy plastic bag. This is to prevent moisture during shipping. Then it is further placed in a very thick, waterproof craft bag. Label them and wait for the post office to pick them up. With EMS, we have had very little damage during shipping (maybe once in 600 cases?). Thank you very much, postmen all over the world, for delivering our futons safely.
This video will give you an idea of how much cotton is packed in it. Each zabuton cushion is carefully handmade by our craftsmen to ensure comfort.
